Creativity during Lockdown

The recent global Lockdown, due to the Corona virus pandemic, has allowed me the creative space and time to rediscover the beauty of my home, Perranporth.  It’s so rare to enjoy this place by ourselves, so it’s been a real treat and hugely inspiring to have it to myself.

Perran in Peace is a series of Mixed Media and Water Colour Studies created outside whilst on various stomps around the Parish of Perranporth, sketchbook and watercolours on board and dog Maverick in toe. Peopleless beaches, tranquil hiding spots in the dunes and clear oceans make this place a haven for creativity.

Palms is a series of oil painting studies that came about from spending lots of time in our back garden, and I aim to evoke a feeling of a calm. Enjoying our outdoor space as Spring sprung through this pandemic, has really helped me observe the colours and forms of this beautiful season, the amazing greens and specifically the ability of palms on a hot day to bring calm.
