About
Painter, printmaker, art educator, surfer, sailor, lover of the great outdoorsβ¦
Vicky Gould trained at the Falmouth College of Art, the Manchester Metropolitan University College of Art and the University of London, gaining a degree in Fine Art, a PGCE in Art Education and a Diploma in Gallery and Museum Education.
Vicky lives in Perranporth with her husband Mike, a marine biologist and outdoor pursuit instructor, and Maverick - their awesome Fox Red Labrador who loves the sea as much as they do.
Growing up on the South West Coast of Cornwall, Vicky was immersed in the ocean from a very early age - gig rowing, sailing, surfing and kayaking.
Spending university summers teaching dinghy sailing in Long Island NY and working on day yachts in Salcombe, Vicky found herself always looking for waves to surf and sail.
Her degree art work was inspired from time in or by the ocean. Vickyβs first exhibition at New Designers was a sell out, with the work being based on aerial studies of the North Cornish coast - where earth meets ocean.
Vicky returned to Cornwall in 2007 to teach and paint, and is currently working at Truro School as an Art Teacher, Artist and Director of the Heseltine Gallery.
